The trial of the president of the European Movement of Kosovo Serbs, Radi Trajković, continued in the Belgrade High Court and was sued by Milan Radoičić, vice president of the Serbian List, for damage to reputation and parties. Radoicic did not appear for the hearing.
Milan Radoicic, the vice president of the Serbian List, whom the Kosovo prosecution suspects the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, did not appear at trial today because, according to his lawyers, he had commercial obligations.
In September last year, he sued Rada Trajković, president of the European Movement of Serbs in Kosovo, claiming that his statements in the media violated his reputation and honor.
Radoicic’s absence from today’s hearing due to business obligations, Trajkovic’s defense attorney judged a lack of respect for the court and a misunderstanding of the litigation procedure. He added that these are not the reasons that justify such a procedure.
“The judge also affirmed that. First, he made the decision that the costs of this hearing will be borne by Mr. Radoicic, regardless of the outcome of the lawsuit, and he warned his lawyer that if he does not come next time, the procedure will continue. Mrs. Trajkovic will be heard. ” It will be on December 4 and the evidence that she proposed in this proceeding will be reported, and only those that were accepted by the court, “said lawyer Vladimir Gajic.
At the beginning of the trial, Radoicic’s lawyer proposed the president of the Serbian List, Goran Rakic, and Milena Popovic, wife of the murdered Oliver Ivanovic, as witnesses in this proceeding, who would testify in favor of Radoicic.
However, the court has yet to make a decision on whether to accept it.
Defense attorney Rade Trajković disagrees with that, stating that “violation of reputation and parties as a personal category cannot be proven by witnesses.” Although Trajković was explicit at the beginning of the trial that he would not appear at the hearings, he was present today because he did not want to question his regularity.
“The regularity of the hearing, on the one hand, and we usually approach the issue of Oliver Ivanovic’s murder in this way,” he said.
As compensation, Radoicic asked the politician to pay him five million dinars. The trial will continue on December 4.
