The interrogation of his sister Tamara T, to which he went after an argument with Kovačević, is ongoing.

The prosecution appealed against the judge’s decision for the preliminary proceedings on Saturday, which rejected his proposal to order the custody of Kovacevic, since he had previously been convicted of a violent crime, in addition to influencing the injured party and his sister the prosecution told Tanjug.

The decision on the appeal must be made by the extrajudicial criminal panel of the First Court of First Instance in Belgrade.

Kovacevic is currently defending himself for freedom, with the measure of prohibiting him from approaching and communicating with Tina and her sister, which was ordered by the investigating judge in lieu of arrest.

At the hearing at the Belgrade prosecutor’s office, Kovacevic flatly denied having threatened the girl and stated in his defense that he had seen her, but had not threatened or injured her that night.

A recording of their discussion appeared in the media after the incident.

Kovacevic is charged with the criminal offenses of endangering security and abuse and torture, because, as the prosecution suspects, he threatened the girl, pulled her hair and broke her phone.

Kovacevic has been known to the Serbian public for the case since May 2008, when he brutally beat a faculty colleague, Brian Steinhauer, at the Boston student club, and for which he was prosecuted in Serbia after fleeing the United States.
