Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said the state of emergency could be lifted relatively quickly if the percentage of newborns remains below five percent in the next seven days.
According to him, abolishing the state of emergency does not mean loosening all measures, but simply abolishing the curfew and hiring an army, while the measures that were in force before the state of emergency, such as the ban on public assembly and distancing social, they will remain.
Visiting TV Pink, Cohn stated that Serbia’s current results in the fight against the coronal virus are a success and that is why we can feel a little good but not relax.
We are also facing the first weekend during which citizens will be able to leave, after seven during which a total ban on movement was in force.
Still, he adds, we need to keep chronically overweight and 65-year-old patients who are particularly vulnerable and at additional risk, which we will preserve if we continue to maintain physical distance.
“They will take care of themselves, I think they have already understood and learned it, but we must also take care of them and take care of them in every possible way, and better not have direct contact,” Kon said.
According to him, while in some countries the danger of the virus “made them aware” of mass death, the citizens of our country are, as he says, a state of emergency and the introduction of measures to prohibit movement.
“We did not have a state of emergency on a whim, but for citizens to be aware that it is necessary to be careful and to prohibit contacts with the elderly,” Kon said.
Cohn also doubted that such measures would be returned.
– We will not declare an epidemic until a pandemic is declared. Therefore, all those extraordinary measures that accompany the proclamation will be able to return at any time, he said.
About kindergarten work
In talking about how to start kindergartens and how they work, Con says he is convinced that educators are very creative and will be able to learn through play to keep their distance, care for and care for their grandparents.
Furthermore, he adds, not all children will attend kindergartens, it is estimated that around 30 percent of parents will bring their children to Belgrade, while in some places only half will.
Kon notes that kindergartens will have the most basic facilities, regular facilities will be disinfected, and work will be done in small groups.
