Ivan Kontić (30), suspected of beating MM (28) in Novi Sad on 24 August, allegedly assaulted him due to a conflict over security matters with his uncle’s brother.
As we learn, the brother of the injured party and the fugitive Kontić have known each other since childhood, because they are both from Nikšić.
Meeting at the betting house
– They both take care of security. The victim’s brother is the owner of the security company and Kontić, who graduated from Law School, is the director. Some time ago, Kontić and his brother MM had an argument. On the fateful night, Kontić and the wounded met at a gambling shop in Novi Sad. The beating started when the victim allegedly told Kontić: “If you have a problem with my brother, you have a problem with me.” – says the source and recalls that the video of the brutal beating horrified the public, and that Kontić is on the international wanted list.
Kontić’s victim lives in Belgrade and does not come from a criminogenic background, but is dedicated to the art of cinema and is a screenwriter and writer. His neighbors told Kurir that they knew him as a good neighbor, as well as that they had seen him in the building in recent days.
– Are your arms broken? I am not up to date. I know you often go to Novi Sad – said the neighbor and added:
– I saw him three or four days ago, the man looks completely normal, his hands are healthy, he ate chocolate.
Black under eye
Another neighbor recalled meeting MM in the elevator a few days ago. – I noticed that he had something black under his eye, but I did not ask him if he was okay, he had no cast or bandages. Nobody talks to him too much, we usually see him in the hall or in the elevator and we hear that he is in the apartment when he plays loud music – he says.
