Strahinja Stojanović (30), who lost both legs in the explosion of the BMW X5 jeep in New Belgrade, and an hour later succumbed to his injuries in hospital, was buried today in the New Bežanija cemetery in the presence of about 100 people.
In the chapel full of flowers were Strahinja’s mother, Cveta, brother Petar, grandfather, the Colombian Sonja Suárez Gómez (45), with whom he maintained a relationship and the closest relatives.

Colombian Sonja Suárez Gómez (45), who was in a relationship with Strahinja for six months, was among the first to arrive at the chapel, accompanied by her family and friends. For a while, she was unable to enter the chapel where Strahinja’s body was. She screamed and cried next to the jeep with which she arrived and thus attracted the attention of everyone present. Two young men tried to calm her down, so they put her back in the car. She stayed inside for five minutes, and then barely came out, clinging to Strahinja’s cousin. Before entering the chapel, she started crying again, clinging to Strahinja’s cousin the entire time.

When the service began, Strahinja’s mother screamed loudly.
– My son, my mother’s son, my happiness … I would give everything if I could go in your place. My happiness, my joys, my love, my life, my boy with the most wonderful soul … My most beautiful son, my mother would not say the last greeting to you, because I cannot say goodbye to you. See you soon … – Cveta’s grieving mother shouted.

Family and friends, dressed in black, stood in front of the chapel full of wreaths and flowers, while a private hired photographer and videographer filmed everyone present and expressed their condolences in the chapel. The friends pressed silently to say goodbye to Strahinja one last time. While the service was going on, they silently watched in front of them, while some were on guard, so they occasionally looked around and observed those present. The funeral was also attended by plainclothes police officers, who closely followed everything that was happening.
After the declarations of condolences and the funeral, the long procession left at 1:45 p.m. to the black marble tomb, which is located in front of the tomb where the parents of Milorad Ulemek Legija are buried.

Strahinja’s mother Cveta and her brother Petar were behind the coffin, while the girl Sonja was behind them. Eight young men, dressed in black, carried the coffin out of the chapel and then lowered it into the tomb. After the funeral, Strahinja’s friend gave a farewell speech. Members of the immediate family threw a flower into the chest, and then a painful cry from a young man went through the cemetery, who shouted, “Brother, why?” The young man sat on the open grave and wept with his head bowed, and then he took Strahinjina’s image and stuck it in his chest. At that moment, Strahinja’s girlfriend Sonja hugged the young man carrying the death flag, while the young man who was crying after closing the grave took a towel and wiped the black marble headstone. A wreath of red flowers was the last to cover Strahinja’s grave.
The grave was paid 25,000 euros, Sonja asked to be dusted
As they only found out in the New Bežanija cemetery, the Stojanović family bought a family grave for four people after Strahinja’s murder.
– Two days before the funeral, a grave was bought in the elite part of the cemetery, not far from the rotunda. The expensive black marble tomb was paid for 2,726,190 dinars in cash. Some young people came and accepted the purchase, says the source “Hello!”. A cemetery worker cleaned the open grave two hundred times before the funeral.
– Strahinja’s girlfriend asked to wipe all the dust off the grave – said the source “Hello!”.
After the funeral, Strahinja’s grandfather came out and put his hand on the headstone, saying goodbye to him, while everyone present gazed at the grave in silence for another ten minutes.

– People loved him very much. Our brother, you are always with us, we have been through everything together, so we will continue to do so in the future. You left briefly and you worried us a bit, but we are used to your jokes, we are waiting for you brother, to continue living life, to carry out all the plans we have imagined. Your soul is great. Put us under your wing, keep us as before. We love you, brother, we will love you forever, without end – Strahinja’s friends said in the obituary.
Let us remind you, Strahinja was assassinated on September 13, at 12:15 pm, on Omladinskih Brigada Street in New Belgrade in front of numerous passersby. A source from the investigation claims that a highly destructive plastic explosive was placed under Strahinja’s jeep.

– You chose peace, not war. Your soul became enlightened, matured and did everything that was needed in this world. The universe has given you a new life full of light and unconditional love, Strahinja’s girlfriend, Sonja Suárez Gómez, wrote in an emotional message, published in the obituary.
– Most likely it was activated remotely, which means the killer was nearby. The explosive was placed in a very professional manner, and the blast was directed only at the driver’s seat, so his girlfriend from Colombia, who was in the passenger seat, was slightly injured. Parts of the explosives were sent for expert examination to see if they had biological traces of the killer, says our interlocutor.
Security experts are convinced that Stojanović was assassinated for blood revenge, in the war between the criminal clans at war in Serbia and the region.
