“I received black tomato seedlings from my cousin Slađa. I thought it was a joke, so I embarked on an experiment. Today, Sladja and I are picking a black tomato, and people are joking and saying,” Well, the blue eggplant it just atrophy in your country, “but when it is cut and tasted, it becomes as clear as day that it is a tomato with a classic taste. black,” said Radoslav Ćatić from Masloševo for the RINA agency.

“From now on I’ll just plant it because it tastes fantastic. It’s a fruit a little smaller than red tomatoes, but if watered regularly it could be bigger, we don’t use chemicals so I pick it up and as in the garden.

Its pulp is red and its skin is black until it ripens, and when it ripens it turns red, but it maintains its black color in places sheltered from the sun ”, explains Slađa.

In the village of Lipovac, Radovanovići, in addition to red, also grows yellow tomatoes. In this property the old variety that was cultivated has been preserved until today.

“In our country, both yellow and red tomatoes are planted regularly. It is decorative and is very beautiful when mixed in a salad with red. It differs only in color from ordinary red tomatoes, because the taste is the same as tomatoes, if it stays longer in the sun, that is, it may be a sweeter shade on the plant. It is resistant to diseases, so I highly recommend it for organic production, “said Mirjana Radovanović from Lipovac village.

By the way, there are more than 400 different types of tomatoes in the world, of which about 50 are produced in Serbia.
