The trial in the criminal process against Ninoslav Jovanovic, better known as the Malcano barber, accused of kidnapping and abusing a twelve-year-old girl from Suvo Do, will continue today before the High Court of Nis.
An expert psychologist from the Belgrade Special Penitentiary Hospital and the doctors from the Nis Clinical Center, who treated the girl after she was found in Pasjaca, are due to testify at today’s hearing.
Jovanovic arrived today at the Nis Palace of Justice accompanied by the police and with a mask on his face.
In the previous hearing, an expert psychiatrist, representative of the commission of the Belgrade Special Penitentiary Hospital, who carried out the neuropsychiatric examination of the accused, was examined.
The abducted girl’s mother, Aleksandra Karimanović, said after the end of the previous hearing that the doctors established that Jovanović was sane, and that she defended herself by saying that she was not sane at the time of the abduction.
Jovanovic was arrested on January 5 at the local Malca cemetery. Investigative actions were initiated against him for the criminal acts of kidnapping and rape of a child, for which a penalty of at least 10 years in prison or life imprisonment can be imposed.
