The Crisis Staff for the Protection of the Health of the Population against Infectious Disease Kovid 19 strongly condemns the violation of epidemiological measures that was warned in certain units of local self-government during the previous weekend, announced the Government of Serbia.
In the extraordinary session of the Crisis Staff, which took place today, as it is said, a greater supervision of the inspection was requested, considering that immediately before the start of the school year, the violation of the measures is completely inadmissible.
The Crisis Staff sent letters to all mayors and mayors reminding them that they are obliged to ensure respect for all epidemiological measures in their territory, without exception, and that there will be no tolerance for non-compliance with the measures.
If they notice the slightest breach of preventive measures, the competent authorities are obliged to act in accordance with the law and punish such behavior, says the Government of Serbia.
This especially concerns, it is underlined in the announcement, the organizers of various events throughout Serbia, whose obligation is to provide all conditions so that the health of citizens is not endangered.
“The violation of the measures is also a lack of respect for health workers”
The Government of Serbia says that the laws, as well as all the protocols on the implementation of epidemiological measures drawn up by the Crisis Personnel, unequivocally determine the ways in which events can be organized and there should be no compromises regarding their respect.
Any irresponsible behavior in the coming days, says the Government, will be clearly reflected in the statistics in two or three weeks.
“Any mass gathering without respect for preventive measures, irresponsible behavior and not wearing masks indoors is, in addition to endangering one’s own health, the health of other people and disrespecting the law, a kind of disrespect to healthcare workers who have endured the brunt of the coronavirus fight, “the statement said.
