Hospital capacity is currently 90 percent full, Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar declared today, stating that at this time there can be no possibility of easing the measures.

After meeting with his Montenegrin colleague Jelena Borovinić Bojović, Lončar told reporters that the health system is currently managing to hospitalize all positive patients who need hospital treatment.

– It is not easy for any system to support that – Lončar said and stated that we have a serious problem with the British strain that spreads much faster and its concentrations in the air are much higher, it causes more severe clinical pictures, so each more and more young people are infected.

He said that the only way to calm the situation is to break contacts and vaccinations, respecting all measures.

Loncar said the measures remain in effect until further notice and their mitigation can only be said when they yield results.

In the crisis staff session, the conditions for entering Serbia were also discussed, with Lončar saying that mainly Serbian citizens gathered and that it was possible to enter the country fully vaccinated without a PCR test. He stated that so far more than two million have been vaccinated in Serbia and more than 800,000 have been revaccinated.

He explained that this refers to the fact that the citizen received two doses of the vaccine, that is, one dose of Astrazeneca, and affirmed that admission will be possible with a negative PCR test.
