For Veljko Belivuk, better known as Velja Nevolja, the Danube was a link between the bases in Ritopek and Banatski Brestovac, which he could easily and imperceptibly reach by boat.
The house in Ritopek, where, as suspected, Velja Nevolja and her group killed at least three people, and the shooting range where he practiced shooting in Banatski Brestovac, is separated only by the Danube. It is suspected that he used the river road to visit their bases in an imperceptible way, avoiding the police.
The river fear hut is about four kilometers away, which took Belivuk a few minutes by car because the street where the house is located goes directly into the Danube. From there by boat, this leader of the criminal group was able to quickly cross to the left bank, where, as is suspected, he had a shooting range, but also where numerous members of his clan lived.
Thus, he avoided stopping the police, traffic jams, but also saved time for himself, because if he had walked the normal way, it would have taken him at least an hour and a half. Thus, in 15 minutes it would be in one of its bases.
The left bank was one of the most important places in Velja Nevolja, which the locals of Banatski Brestovac, as well as all the surrounding places of Ivanovo, Starčevo, but also Pancevo, saw often. It is suspected that he formed his criminal army there, and many young people from these places became members of the “Principles” fan group. This is demonstrated by the signs of this group on traffic signs, but also at the entrances to these places.
Velja Nevolja spent most of her time in Pancevo.
Scared locals say he put his hand on everything he liked. He also became one of the leaders of the local football club Dinamo.
– No one can oppose him because we know who he is talking about – says a local.
As they say, no one reported him to the police out of fear.
– When we see him sitting in a bar, we do not go there – say the neighbors of Pancevo.
They add that they had seen Velja and his closest associates in the city for months and that they were all reluctant to meet them.
It is in that period, as is suspected, in mid-2019, that Ritopek’s neighbors began to see Belivuk, when he began to visit the fear hut in which Vlada Draganić, as is suspected, his closest collaborator, lived until then.
– Vlada Draganić lived in that house with her family. As far as we know, he didn’t sell that house, he just left it. At first, he had a camera at the entrance of the house, and then in 2018, he started putting cameras everywhere. He had a camera in every corner of the house. We were uncomfortable because the cameras were watching outside his yard, but no one was clear why he did it, said by one of the locals.
It is suspected that the most horrible crimes of the Belivuk group took place in this house: the murders of Milan Ljepoja, Goran Veličković Goksije and Zdravko Radojević.
As determined so far, Velja Nevolje’s group lured Ljepoja to a meeting at a house in Ritopek, and standing cameras in the house and on the pole last recorded how Ljepoja enters the yard by car and never was filmed going out.
