NOVA VAROS – The Zlatar spa complex in Nova Varos was sold and the contract with the new owner, Metal Investmens Europe doo from Belgrade, was confirmed on February 9 in Prijepolje. This was confirmed by the director of the Republic Property Directorate, Jovan Vorkapić.
The buyer paid the agreed price a few days after signing the contract, and it is 2,546,000 euros, which is about 200,000 euros more than the starting price. With the payment, the buyer fulfilled the condition of taking over the property of the once well-known center for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases.
The spa complex has been advertised for sale on several occasions. For the first time in October 2019, when the starting price was 3.9 million euros. Subsequently, it was reduced, so that in the fourth announcement of October last year, according to which it was sold, it would amount to slightly more than 2.3 million euros.
The Zlatar complex was built at 1,235 meters above sea level and, due to huge debts, it was closed about ten years ago, after which it became the property of the Serbian Government and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund. for employees.
According to the Varoške novine newspaper, Metal Investmens Europe, in addition to the complex with an area of 12,298 square meters, also bought more than four hectares of land in the most beautiful part of the mountain. The newspaper also claims that the facility has deteriorated a lot in the meantime, but also that the condition needs to be improved, as renovation works are expected to begin in the summer.
