In many larger cities in Serbia, but also in neighboring countries, tonight, citizens gather and light candles in memory of musician George Balasevic, who passed away yesterday, singing his songs.

The citizens of Belgrade gathered today at 6 pm at Nikola Pašić Square in Belgrade to pay their respects to Đorđe Balašević.

About 200 people gathered in Nikola Pašić Square to see Balašević farewell with the songs “Just so there is no war” and “First love”. They lit candles in a calm atmosphere with the inscription “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.”

Most of those gathered wore masks.

According to announcements on social networks, a meeting is scheduled for 8 at night in front of the Sava Center.

Subotica: Peaceful Bačka

Tonight, the citizens of Subotica gathered in the city center to pay tribute to the late poet and writer Đorđe Balašević.

They light candles and leave messages in the circle of the new fountain, and one of the messages is “Mirna ti Bačka”.

The Facebook group “Pijaca”, which has more than 15,000 members, announced that a farewell to the “sailor from Pannonia” will be organized in the circle of the new source on Sunday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m.
