Tatjana Adžić Vukičević, director of Kovid Hospital in Batajnica, the largest such institution in the region, said she feared the increase in the number of people suffering from the corona virus.

– I am very afraid of what awaits us in the next 10 to 12 days, when everyone returns from vacation, and I fear that we will be hit by a large increase in the number of patients – said the doctor.

He claimed that the Kovid hospital in Batajnica is “practically ready” to be ready to open another part of the building at any time, which has not been in operation so far.

– The number as of this morning is: 410 patients, 62 of them in intensive care units, 32 were intubated. Every day there are between 30 and 50 hospital admissions and approximately the same number of discharges – said Adžić Vukičević.

He notes that the crown “does not choose” and that, when the covid hospital opened in early December, there were two-thirds of men among the patients, and now half and half.

– The clinical pictures are increasingly harsh, it is due to the greater transmission of the virus – he said, adding that since December 4, 2,800 people have been hospitalized.

It says more than 8,000 scans, 35,000 lab tests, 10,000 lung scans and 500 hemodialysis were performed.

He announced the opening of an angio room for tomorrow.

– All patients with acute coronary syndrome, that is, myocardial infarction, of which about 15 have been registered since the institution’s work began, will be able to receive direct help. It will be possible to make ‘stents’ in our hospital in Batajnica, towards which other covidual patients with the same diagnosis will gravitate, concluded Adžić Vukičević.
