The vaccination of the first 1,000 citizens, over 75 years of age, who applied through the electronic administration portal, began today in Belgrade.
At the New Belgrade Health Center, 91-year-old Vladislav Jeftić was one of the first to receive the vaccine, who, as he says, administered it on the first day.
That Vladislav received the Pfizer vaccine, but, as he added, he did not choose because he does not care which vaccine he will receive.
– I didn’t have any dilemma when I applied. This is the best way to protect yourself. Protection will be complete after 15 to 20 days when there is revaccination, Jeftić said.
On the first day the application for vaccination was started via e-government (January 11), his son registered him for vaccination and yesterday a phone call came from the New Belgrade Health Center to come this morning to get vaccinated.
Vaccination against the corona virus began today at 10 am at the health centers in Voždovac, Vračar, Zemun, Zvezdara, Savski Venac, Stari Grad, Palilula, New Belgrade, Čukarica and Rakovica.
The vaccination of citizens over 75 years of age who have applied for eGovernment will continue tomorrow throughout Serbia.
Health Ministry Secretary of State Aleksandar Stefoski says that the vaccine application teams were educated, and older citizens were called in at different times today so as not to create a crowd.
The procedure is such that each candidate is examined by a GP prior to vaccination.
– Tomorrow the vaccination will continue in other cities of Serbia – Novi Sad, Nis, Cacak … where the immunization will be carried out at certain points. The vaccine goes according to a certain plan and is given continuously, Stefoski said.
He stated that there are enough vaccines and that they arrive periodically as planned.
Miodrag Stanojković (89) also received the vaccine, saying that she felt fine after the immunization, that she did not choose the vaccine, and that she would receive whatever was approved.
– I had no dilemma whether to request the vaccination – Miodrag said adding that most of the time he spends time at home and hopes to be able to hang out soon.
Milorad Mićović (86) completed the electronic form through his granddaughter’s electronic administration and says that thanks to her he was able to get vaccinated today.
He did not choose a vaccine and would receive the available one.
“I’m sorry that my wife, who is three years younger than me, was not invited to get vaccinated today,” Milorad stated.
During the coronavirus epidemic, he spends time at home most of the time, but he has a garden, so that helped him “get through” the period when he couldn’t hang out with friends.
