Three people were arrested this morning in a major action by the German police on suspicion of financing a terrorist organization in Syria.

The handcuffs were placed in the hands of two men with German passports and a woman who was found with Serbian and false Kosovo status documents.

This morning, German police officers searched several places in the country, during which a Serb and a citizen of the false state of Kosovo, VM, and German citizens, OA and TM, were arrested on suspicion of financing terrorism and supporting organizations terrorists abroad. All three are also suspected of violating foreign trade law.

Police searched the apartments of 11 more people.

According to media reports in Germany, the suspects cooperated with the terrorist organization Tahrir el Sham, which is said to be a combination of several militant-fundamentalist movements in Syria and aims to overthrow the Syrian government and establish an Islamist state based in its ideology.

The suspects were arrested for belonging to an international network of financiers from Europe, who invested significant sums in the activities of the terrorist organization.

The two detainees were identified as financial intermediaries, with OA hosted in Turkey, from where it maintained an Internet platform in which public calls for donations and financing of the “jihad” were sent.

On the platform it was announced that the money paid will be used to buy weapons and for the lives of the “combatants.” TM transferred the money received from the donations to a member of the organization in Syria.

It is suspected that VM made a money transaction in the account of a terrorist organization in February and September 2018, once through OA, and the second time through another intermediary in Syria.
