NOVI SAD – After several hours of negotiations, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ž. M. (59), who, locked in a room in a hostel in Novi Sad, threatened to drop a bomb, obeyed the negotiators, opened the door of the room without violence and surrendered to the police.
The first inspection of the room established that he had no weapons with him, not even an explosive device, the newspaper writes. The Intervention Police team stayed to inspect the entire facility in more detail.
Ž. M., adds Blic, received emergency medical attention and will be transferred to the Emergency Center for diagnosis. An investigation will determine why he threatened the bomb. Ž. M. checked into the hostel yesterday afternoon and left his driver’s license on the application form.
“After a while, one of the employees went to his room. He said in a pleasant tone that everything was fine. However, the employees insisted on opening it because they were concerned and thought something strange was happening.
Then Ž. M. told the employee to leave and otherwise he would drop a bomb, “said a police source.
