Pressure on Serbia
Former war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic told Kurir that Walker’s statement was completely unfounded and used to exert political pressure.
– If we talk about objectivity, Walker is an irrelevant character, and his statement is at least meaningless. Do you think The Hague would have lost someone if it had continued to be responsible for those events? Make sure the prosecutors in The Hague don’t miss out on it under any circumstances. Nobody was left. Our highest generals were tried and The Hague was extremely satisfied with the work of our prosecution. What Walker is saying is more political pressure on Serbia, Vukčević estimates.
By the way, Walker was the head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo in 1999, and his report on the alleged crime of Serbian forces against civilians in the village of Racak was the reason for the increased western pressure on Belgrade and the introduction of failed negotiations at Rambouillet, and then the NATO bombing of the then FRY. .
