On the “Impression of the Week” program, Olja Bećković’s guests pointed out that the part of the opposition that boycotted the elections gained credibility with the public, keeping their word that they would not go to the polls. However, they did not agree that the parties that advocated for the boycott sign a platform for fair and honest elections with the parties that participated in the electoral race.
Olja Bećković’s guests were the vice president of the People’s Party Zdravko Ponos, the vice president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SAA) Borko Stefanović and Bojan Pajtić, a professor at the Novi Sad Law School and former president of the Democratic Party.
Ponos pointed out that the situation in the opposition is far from good. Speaking about the cooperation between the People’s Party and the Freedom and Justice Party, he stated that the two sides have never had intense bilateral cooperation, but that it is a mistake to think that the United Opposition of Serbia (UOPS) is dead, although it is not pulsing at the moment.
“At the moment, the format of cooperation between opposition parties is blocked for various reasons and, unfortunately, it is not functional,” he said.
Speaking about the claims that the disagreement between the SAA and the Popular Party arose due to the intention of the SAA to initiate cooperation with the Free Citizens Movement (PSG) in defining the electoral conditions, he said that for the PSG “The question of going to the polls was not a question of principle.
“Within UOPS, there are many members who are firmly in the position of boycotting. They have sacrificed their own interests for the good of the public.” We washed the diploma. The battle related to electoral conditions should be led by those of us who have credibility and who are priceless, “said Ponos.

“Now we have an opinion on that and we think we should run for a column and a candidate, but now it is too early to deal with that. We are certainly upset by the attempt to profile already ideological columns. Bringing PSG into the game seems like profiling ideological columns and the collapse of credit that we only have, and that is that we boycott the elections and show courage. ”
Stefanović affirmed that the Freedom and Justice Party does not demand the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to provide them with fair and honest electoral conditions, but rather the European Union.
“He may be forced to do it by the EU or by a hundred thousand people on the streets. We are not talking about coalitions, but about cooperation in electoral conditions with all undoubtedly opposition organizations. We must be aware that one thing is completely Milos. Jovanovic, Nenad Canak, Cedomir Jovanovic, Tatjana Macura – they are not the opposition, you can see from the fact that they have coalitions all over Serbia with the Serbian Progressive Party and they say that the boycott “broke out” and that it was stupid for Serbia. , Nebojsa Zelenovic ”, explains Stefanovic, adding that the situation in the opposition is“ difficult, but it will not fail ”.

“I think the opposition has its own ramblings and its own mistakes. Our cooperation will not stop in any way. We will go to the first free and fair elections. It is important that we have the opportunity for people to choose and decide about their own lives. “The last thing is to think now about our differences. In that situation, measuring our differences, whether someone was consistent to the end or not, is very thankless. We do not have much time, the citizens expect from us a much greater degree of seriousness and unity “, says the vice president of the SAA, adding that PSG is not a new member of the United Opposition of Serbia.
“At this time, it is important to bring together the broadest possible front of parties that jointly formulate demands for free and fair elections. We of the Freedom and Justice Party believe that all those who are undoubtedly the opposition should participate in the drafting of this document.” Stefanovic said.
On the other hand, Bojan Pajtić points out that he does not think it is a luxury to insist that voters can choose an opposition that is credible.

“The opposition does not have the manpower, the infrastructure and the means of communication. It gained credibility in the previous elections and that’s all it has. That part of the opposition that signed the ‘Agreement with the people’, which publicly promised not going to the polls, he abandoned everything. “He has credible intentions. I doubt the good intentions of the parties who signed the agreement and then broke their promise not to go to the polls, “Pajtic said.
