PROTA RAJKO DIED: Lost the battle with the crown

Protu, who was born in Jalovik, under whose leadership a new church was built in Vladimirci, was “cut off” by the corona virus. His son, Branko, a prominent Valjevo priest, was the first in the Diocese of Valjevo to be infected with this vicious virus. to conquer her, but her father was not so lucky. The first church to which the ecclesiastical books were returned, which the revolutionary government took from the Church in 1946, was the Vladimir Church. The books were personally received by Father Rajko, at a celebration attended by Serbian Patriarch Irinej and the Bishop of Sabac Lavrentije eight years ago.

– Indeed, it can be said that Proto Rajko is a legendary person, because he simply wowed with his knowledge, the beauty of his spoken words, the richness of messages and lessons that he presented in a way that both the pastor and the academic understand well – says Archpriest Mirko Vilotić, Deputy Archbishop in the Diocese of Sabac of the Serbian Orthodox Church. – He was very educated, intelligent, sociable and a man who, with all his heart, served God and his family. Elegant, educated and cultured, he was a pleasant interlocutor for everyone he met. For the believers, it was of great value both when they rejoiced and when they cry.

This is the sixth priest from the diocese of Sabac to pass away this year, and the first to be “carried away” by the Prota crown virus will be buried in the Vladimir cemetery.
