In recent days, more and more coronavirus patients with a more serious or severe clinical picture, who had previously been treated at home on their own, are arriving in hospitals all over Serbia! Experts warn that such a relationship can lead to death, because these people did not report to the doctor on time and, therefore, further complicated their health, which could have been improved with appropriate therapy.
In such patients, there may be a sudden worsening and then it is much more difficult to treat them, so it often happens that they end up on a ventilator, and the worst case is possible!
Goran Stevanović, director of the Belgrade Infectious Diseases Clinic, also warned yesterday of the danger of informing the doctor at the wrong time.
– What is a worrying trend lately is that patients come to us with a more serious and difficult clinical picture, who have spent a few days at home in the phase of self-treatment or insufficient treatment. We have repeatedly pointed out that this disease cannot be treated independently, it cannot be treated at home, without consulting doctors who work within the covid system, said Stevanović after the meeting of the Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar with the directors of the covid hospitals.
The teacher also warns about this. Dr. Nebojsa Ladjevic, director of the KCS Center for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.
– Many patients think “it’s nothing, I’m just coughing, maybe I got it from a child” or “it won’t hurt me, I’m strong”. However, they are deluding themselves. It is extremely important to do a lab and X-ray immediately after symptoms appear. It happens that the patient feels relatively well, and the changes are already visible on the X-ray. When he reached the stage where he had lost his strength, we had already missed a few days of treatment – says Dr. Ladjevic de Kurir.
He adds that in the first week of the disease, the virus can be treated with antivirals that prevent its multiplication.
– When this phase passes, there is no benefit from these drugs, and then we only act on what can only be a consequence of the multiplied virus in the body. We all fear cytokine storms in which severe inflammation can occur that significantly damages the lungs.
Dr Lađević adds that although young people do not have such a difficult picture, there are also those who have reached the intensive care units, and a 23-year-old man is currently hospitalized in Batajnica.
Prof. Dr. Zarko Rankovic, an infectious disease specialist, told Kurir that inappropriate and untimely treatment can even lead to death.
– Kovid patients may feel relatively well, but a sudden worsening can occur after a few days, just when they expect the disease to win. Symptoms like shortness of breath, shortness of breath, pale skin … Some patients may develop severe bilateral pneumonia that progresses to so-called shortness of breath. acute respiratory distress syndrome. It happens that there are clotting disorders, microthrombosis, and more complications, and even a fatal outcome is possible, says Dr. Ranković, adding that you should never take antibiotics and temperature-lowering medications on your own.

The crown reduced the demand for fish
The coronavirus pandemic has halved the demand for fish, although the end of the year is characterized by a high consumption of fish due to holidays and the Christmas fast, announced the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC). According to the statement, the carp is currently offered at a wholesale price of less than 200 dinars per kilogram, which is lower than the production price.
– Fishermen would welcome a reduction in water use tariffs by 50 percent, or abolished altogether, to cancel their debts on that basis and increase subsidies per kilogram of fish produced – it is stated in the initiative of national producers.
