Professor Branislav Tiodorović, epidemiologist and crisis staff member, scratched his car today while at a meeting at the Niš City Hall.
When he left the meeting, Dr. Tiodorović noticed a scratch on the surface of his black car, approximately one and a half meters long, along the front and rear doors on the driver’s side. The damage was apparently done with a metal object, perhaps a nail or wrench, and it was clear that it was not accidental.
In a statement for “Blic”, Professor Tiodorović says that “they do not understand how certain people get involved in politics during the epidemic, instead of all of us being united in the fight against the virus.”
– I am not a politician and I am not a politician! I got into all this with a pure heart, and today, on top of everything, I feel like my car is scratched. So for how long? And because ?! – says Dr. Tiodorović.
Dr. Tiodorović is also outraged that in recent days he has been attacked in public by “unprofessional” people, as well as by some opposition politicians who have criticized the fact that his daughter Danica is a dermatovenerologist who treated patients in the KV hospital in two attacks. Nis appointed to the position of Assistant General Manager of KC Nis for educational activities and scientific research.
“Dad sells the fog to the people, and as a reward the functions of the daughters,” reads one of those posts on social networks.
Dr. Tiodorović says that even when there was a flu epidemic, he responded to the call of the then Health Minister Tomica Milosavljević, “just like today, when I, as a retiree, responded to the call of the president in the fight against the crown. “.
– I, who studied at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, who went through 200 epidemics as a doctor, to be called unprofessional? Sorry, but it bothers me. In the last few days, I have also experienced my daughter being appointed to the position of Assistant General Manager of KC Nis. Why doesn’t anyone, before saying something, check someone’s biography, both mine and hers? No one can question his expertise in scientific circles, he has references to perform that role. Why all this from the people I love so much? – Professor Tidorović says “Blic”.
Epidemiologist prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1976, was a long-time full professor at the Faculty of Medicine and head of the Department of Epidemiology in Nis, and for many years he was the director of the Nis Institute of Public Health, to direct the Clinical Center of Nis. .
In an interview with “Blic”, he said that in 1986 he was at the Pasteur Institute in Paris.
– They often invited me to their symposia dealing with rare diseases, epidemics that took place in the world, especially in Africa. Listening to and participating in this work at the Pasteur Institute, it seemed to me at first that it seemed like a supposed future. Today, looking at this situation the world is in, I see how justified it was. It is good to have had the opportunity to hear about new infections and possible epidemics. Also, there I had the opportunity to meet people like Lika Montagne, as well as her team. They were the first to test the HIV virus, they are Nobel laureates. I stayed there on several occasions, improved and that experience helped me throughout my career, as well as on trips after public meetings, Tiodorović said in an interview for “Blic” at the time.
