On the first business day, after a break of almost two months due to the coronavirus, 3,430 children went to Belgrade kindergartens today, said municipal secretary for education and child protection Slavko Gak.
– That’s a quarter of the approximately 13,500 originally registered, and just under six percent of the total number of children enrolled. We hope that the number grows these days, and it is important that everything goes well. Parents who have to return to work need not worry about the safety of their children – said Gak, who visited two kindergartens this morning, “St. Petka” in Savski Venac and the “Sveti Sava” kindergarten in Banovo brdo .
Gak noted that all daycares were completely ready to receive children, that they had all the necessary protective equipment and disinfectants, and that all prescribed measures would be respected.
– We saw what it looks like in the field this morning. Employees know what to do, parents are informed, and I really hope that everything continues in the best order and that we all continue to act responsibly, Gak said.
This morning, most of the children attended kindergartens in New Belgrade – 449, in Palilula – 393 and Voždovac – 373, while the children returned to Sopot this morning, 26 of them.
