On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the historic Podgorica Assembly, by whose will Montenegro became an integral part of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, Vukovic decided to lower the flags to the ground and turn off the lights in front of the parliament building for four days .
In a statement sent to the media, Kovacevic says that “such a scandalous act” was not noticed in the Montenegrin capital.
In that way, Kovacevic notes, Vukovic enraged fans of the 1918 Podgorica Assembly decisions on unification with Serbia.
He says that Vukovic is a “son of communism” when the darkness of oneness and one-party government reigned, as well as the resistance to all symbols of democracy and the will of the majority of the Montenegrin people.
He points out that the Assembly of Podgorica is the noblest expression of the aspirations of the Serbian people of Montenegro to create a state with their compatriots after centuries of slavery and the separation of our various provinces.
He points out that this was a step towards prosperity and progress, with which communism “pushed the pistons to the wheels with the desire to be in the mud and puddles forever.”
– Fortunately, we started to get out of that and Montenegro has the opportunity to progress again, and not stagnate – said Kovacevic and recalled the events of two years ago.
According to Kovacevic, the “Milo Djukanovic regime” then prohibited Serbian intellectuals from entering Montenegro to celebrate this great historical event.
During the DPS rule of Djukanovic, the Montenegrin Parliament passed a Resolution that “annulled” the historical event that happened a century ago, when the Kingdom of Montenegro decided to join the Kingdom of Serbia in a joint state of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. .
