Lazar T., 22, suspected of killing 34-year-old Bojan Mirkovic in New Belgrade’s Belleville neighborhood on November 12, was arrested on Monday night while trying to cross illegally into Bosnia. Lazar T. has been known to the police for a long time and was released last year.
– After being released from Valjevo prison, he worked as a security guard in a club – says the source, adding that after the crime, the suspect hid in Belgrade for four days.
– His mother and partner, as it was discovered during the investigation, transferred him to Zlatibor on November 16, from where he tried to escape from Serbia – added the source.
Cetinje resident injured by “Kavcanin”
Detained Montenegrin citizen Filip I. survived the shooting in Cetinje in 2014. He was then shot by Nikola Ćupić, who was killed in a car explosion in 2019, and for whom the Montenegrin media wrote that he was allegedly close to the “people of the sofa”.
In addition to Lazar T., the police also arrested Filip I. (29) from Cetinje and D. K from Belgrade. According to Dejan Kovacevic, UKP director, the detainees were preparing to flee to Bosnia.
– LT is the direct author of the declared criminal act, DK is a co-author and the role of the Montenegrin citizen will be determined – Kovacevic said. Ivan N. (39) from Nikšić and Bojan K. (37), who lives with the mother of the arrested Lazar T., were previously arrested for the murder of Bojan Marković.
Police Minister: Mafia members will not escape the law
Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin stated that he was proud that UKP members and all MUP members managed to shed light on the assassination of Bojan Markovic in a short period of time. – There was a crime, there will be crimes, but the members of the Ministry of the Interior will not allow any crime to remain unsolved and that any mobster in our country can escape justice and the law. President Aleksandar Vučić declared war on the mafia. All members of the Ministry of the Interior are waging this war sincerely, disinterestedly and successfully – said the Minister.
– Ivan N. and the murdered man knew each other and dated, but recently they had a fight. Mirkovic was close to the Skaljar clan, so it was believed that it was about continuing the reckoning of the warring clans.
However, as it turned out that the now-arrested Iban N. was allegedly close to the “resellers”, the possibility that he paid with his head for a personal conflict with a friend is not ruled out – says the source, adding that the crime in Belleville it was planned in detail.
As the source explains, Bojan K. admitted at the hearing that Lazara T. was traveling on the Sava embankment in early November to ride a bicycle.
– He also said that on November 9, three days before the murder, he drove him to the building near “Delta City”, about three hours after midnight – says the source and adds: – He also said that Lazar stayed there half time. However, Bojan K. claimed that he did not know that a murder was being prepared or that Lazar T. had participated in it.
On the basis of camera recordings, it was determined that the killer was riding an electric bicycle, which he used to escape down the Sava embankment towards Jakov, where he lost track until his arrest. The bicycle was found during the arrest of Lazar T.
