Finance Minister Siniša Mali declared that 10,000 dinars will be paid tomorrow on behalf of a one-time financial aid for healthcare employees, and that 1.55 billion dinars, or about 13 million euros, have been allocated from budget for those purposes.
“All health workers will receive this one-time assistance from the state. When I say that, I also mean those who are employed in the health system itself, military health institutions, health workers employed in the Ministry of the Interior, as well as health workers who work in social service institutions whose work is financed from the budget. “120,000 people work in the narrow health system alone, while there are about 130,000 together with employees of other services,” said the minister.
Siniša Mali said the money will also go to non-medical personnel working in the health system., because their support in this joint fight is unquestionable – from ambulance drivers to cleaners whose workload has multiplied.

He specified that the money will be given to medical workers in both kovid and nevid modes, and that there was no dilemma, because those outside the kovid system are burdened by the greater number of patients they have to receive because their colleagues are busy in other jobs . .
On this occasion, the Minister thanked the doctors, especially the doctors and nurses, for their sacrificial attitude towards their profession during the epidemic.
“We have never had a health crisis like this before. You have made great efforts to make the health system work in such conditions and, in terms of capacities and treatment, it is under enormous pressure. You are for us the heroes of our time. The state will do everything possible so that the conditions in which you work are as good and worthy of work as possible in the 21st century, “said the minister.
Mali recalled that the salaries of health workers have increased by around 30 percent in the last year alone, which is almost unthinkable in the conditions of the crisis. “Last year, in November, we increased the salaries of nurses by 15 percent and doctors by 10 percent. Then in April of this year, they received a ten percent increase, and now, from January 1, they will receive an increase of another five percent, “Mali said.
He added that he is aware that not only the material state is important, but also the general working conditions in hospitals. The minister mentioned that this year huge budget funds were allocated to make the health system work, and that the budget revision that was recently approved gave the possibility to continue the fight against the coronavirus even stronger.
“We have set aside nine billion dinars for the completion of two special covid hospitals: in Krusevac and in Belgrade, i.e. Batajnica. A hospital will open in Batajnica in early December and we hope that this new 1,000-bed capacity will provide relief for others. hospitals. The plan is to continue the reconstruction of other general hospitals and health centers throughout Serbia, the acquisition of medical equipment and medicines, “the minister emphasized.
Mali also expressed the expectation that it would arrive soon. coronavirus vaccine and that you will be among the first to be greeted by medical workers, because they should be the first to be protected. “We are really making extra-human efforts to get the vaccine as soon as possible.” Much does not depend on us, but on when the vaccine will be registered and produced in sufficient quantities to be distributed, “Mali said, but added that they are negotiating with several manufacturers.
According to him, the state cannot win this battle alone and it is important that all citizens realize that much depends on their responsible behavior today: the health of their loved ones, but also the state of health and the economy as a whole.
Minister Mali also said that the budget of the Republic of Serbia is stable and has the strength to withstand this crisis. “By carefully planning each dinar, we have managed to keep the level of investment in capital and infrastructure projects at a satisfactory level and the inflow of foreign direct investment 1.8 billion euros since the beginning of the year. We have the smallest economic decline in Europe and it will be around -1% ”, Mali concluded and said that the Serbian Government will continue to create the conditions to preserve employment and general economic growth through responsible economic policy.
