BELGRADE – In the last 24 hours, 18,232 citizens were tested in Serbia, of which 6,903 tested positive. Unfortunately, 57 people died and 279 patients were on respirators.

A total of 1,656 users and 738 employees were infected
The Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans Affairs and Social Affairs announced that 1,656 users and 738 employees were infected in social protection institutions for the accommodation of users and homes for the accommodation of adults and the elderly.
The total number of cured users of social protection institutions is 1,518 and the number of cured persons employed in social protection institutions is 671.
The presence of the virus was confirmed at the Belgrade City Social Work Center in the following departments: Stari grad, Zvezdara, Savski venac, Čukarica, Rakovica, Zemun, Palilula, Vračar, New Belgrade, Center for Gerontology in Kragujevac, Center of Gerontology Novi Sad in the departments of Dom Liman, Dom Novo naselje, Dom Futog and the Help and Home Care work unit.
In addition, the presence of the virus was confirmed at the Gerontology Centers in Bežanijska kosa, Karaburma, Voždovac, the Stacionar work unit, then at the Gerontology Center in Zrenjanin, Pancevo, Obrenovac, the Srem Gerontology Center in Ruma, the Center of Gerontology in Sombor, the work unit Dom penionara Old people’s home. The virus has also been confirmed in many homes in Serbia.
Beneficiaries of social protection institutions who are estimated to be potential carriers of the virus are isolated, while employees of social protection institutions, where there is such danger, do not come to work and are in home isolation. The total number of private providers of social protection services, home accommodation for adults and the elderly in the territory of the Republic of Serbia is 237, with a capacity of 8,801 users.
Novi Pazar: one patient died, five on a ventilator
One Raska patient died as a result of the corona virus, while five are on respirators, Novi Pazar’s emergency situations headquarters announced today. The regional COVID center in Novi Pazar received six more patients from Raska, two from Novi Pazar and one from Tutin. Ten patients were discharged from treatment and four were treated with high-flow ventilation. The total number of examinations at the Covid clinic of the Novi Pazar Health Center is 128, of which 61 are the first and 67 are control examinations, Indeksonline reports. The number of patients hospitalized in the Department of Infectious Diseases is 37, in the Department of Thoracic 51 and in the Novopazarska Banja Temporary Hospital 28 patients.
Čačak: Three patients died, 7 on respirators
According to the data of the Task Force, 205 patients were hospitalized in all the wards of the Čačak General Hospital, which were converted into one ward. The respiratory center accommodates 17 patients, seven of whom use respirators. In the last 24 hours, 21 patients were admitted, 14 were discharged, while four patients were admitted to the Blue Room and five patients were transferred from the hospital, writes Glas Zapadne Srbije. There were three deaths: PD (1954) from Čačak (positive), Č.V. (1936) by Čačak (positive) and RM (1945) by Čačak (positive). Of the 611 test results, 144 are positive in Čačak, 40 in Lučani, 36 in Gornji Milanovac and 53 positive in Ivanjica.
In the district of Zlatibor, 273 newly infected
According to data from the Uzice Public Health Institute, in the Zlatibor district area, from the previous report until today, Kovid-19 has been confirmed in 273 people. Most of the new infected are from Uzice – 78, followed by Bajina Basta with 51, Priboj with 36 and Pozega with 28 new cases. Since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 7,650 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the territory of the Zlatibor district.
95 patients were admitted to Batajnica on a stormy night
The night at Kovid hospital in Batajnica was very stormy, said the director, Dr. Tatjana Adžić Vukićević, stating that as of 5 pm yesterday, when the hospital started operating, 95 patients were admitted. According to her, 80 patients with moderate and severe clinical symptoms were admitted only during the night.
“There are 72 patients in semi-intensive care, and eight of them in the intensive care unit, four of whom are on mechanical ventilation,” Adzic Vukicevic told Tanjug. She says she expected this situation because capacities at other hospitals were overcrowded. She asked the public for a bit of understanding, because, as she says, “the machinery starts from scratch.”
