6 MEASURES ON THE CRISIS STAFF TABLE Today is the session, these could be NEW PROHIBITIONS

The number of crowns infected with the virus is increasing day by day in the region and Europe, as well as in Serbia. On this occasion, the Crisis Staff for the fight against kovid 19 will hold a session today to discuss the current epidemiological situation, as well as the possible tightening of measures. What are the prohibitions on the table?

As we have learned off the record, the focus will be on measures for Belgrade, as the city with the highest number of infected people.

A source from Blic says that the same measures will certainly not apply to the entire territory of Serbia, but will vary from city to city. In other words, local crisis headquarters and local self-governments will adopt those measures that correspond to the epidemiological situation in that part of Serbia, or will not adopt them if not necessary.

Since yesterday’s drastic increase in the number of crowns, much of the Crisis Medical Staff spoke yesterday in several guest appearances about the possible introduction of certain measures or the correction of existing ones. What was mentioned that could become a measure today?

1) Prohibition of movement

Epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon, as a guest on Happy TV, said there are not a number of infected people that need to be contacted to toughen measures.

However, he did not rule out the possibility of introducing a driving ban, but “it should be mainly at the local level, depending on the epidemiological situation.”

– A state of emergency as a state of emergency can hardly be an option, but that does not mean that we leave it at that and that there will be no measure to prohibit movement in some situations. We will not let the virus spread without us doing anything – he says.

2) Reduced working hours of shops and businesses

Speaking of the ban on movement at the local level, Dr. Kon mentioned that local venues are the ones that can adopt certain measures that may differ from those that are valid at the statewide level.

Such is, for example, the case of Trstenik, which declared a state of emergency and shortened the work of the catering facilities from 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The essence, explains the epidemiologist, is to prevent behaviors in which the maximum transmission of the virus occurs.

Everyone on the premises, therefore, can determine how long the catering and retail facilities should operate in a given city or municipality.

3) Gathering less than 30

In addition, depending on the specific epidemiological situation, each local office has the right to make its own decisions about the number of people allowed when it comes to meetings.

– So, for example, there are currently more than 30 people banned from meeting, and that can be reduced to 5 or a complete ban, although the latter is not realistic – he said.

Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar said today that meetings are a big problem.

– We gave the local self-governments the freedom to assess the situation, and then their crisis headquarters began to grant special permits to their fellow citizens for fun, weddings and other things. What we will insist on not granting such permissions, no one can give you permission anymore. The law is valid for everyone, up to 30 people over 30, we are going to the responsibility of local self-government and those who violate the measures – Lončar emphasized.

4) Closing of theaters and cinemas

The measure that could be among the first to be implemented is certainly related to the abolition of gatherings at cultural events. Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorović, a member of the crisis staff, also mentioned that.

– We do not have a great choice within the country, what already exists is being applied. If the number of infected grows, we may have to take some steps, such as closing theaters, cinemas … Because we should not relax. For example, what is happening in the Netherlands, which had good data: there is an increase, there is a jump in Germany. We have received criticism for the introduction of the curfew, and you can see how many of them have introduced that measure. Both in Belgium and in the part of the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, they obviously realized that now everything must return to the strictest measures – he noted.

5) Border closure

Although the borders of Serbia are open, at this time it is not known if new measures will be introduced against those who enter the country.

– Now we are faced with the dilemma of whether additional measures should be introduced, whether they will be selective, I am sure we cannot introduce measures in relation to our people who come and stay here. People who work here or have relatives who come to our country, we will have to think it through everything. At this time, regardless of the increase, we are still in the best position, so if we can, it would be good to continue taking care to respect the measures, because the result of all this is that a good part of the population respects the measures – concludes the Professor Tiodorovic.

6) Masks and exteriors

However, the safest thing is undoubtedly the introduction of the measure of wearing masks outdoors. Another member of the crisis staff spoke on that topic today: Immunologist Srđa Janković, a doctor who has not removed his mask since 6 March.

He said on TV Prva that there is no talk indoors at all that a mask is necessary, and said that physical distance and masks are the backbone of preventing infection and disease, and preventing death from kovid disease. 19.

– Wearing protective masks will soon be a must in the open space when it comes to contacts, said immunologist Dr. Srdja Jankovic.
