The Government of Serbia today prescribed new measures, which will be in force from Tuesday morning for the next ten days.

After today’s meeting with the directors of covid hospitals in Serbia, Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar said that Belgrade has the biggest problems with accommodation capacity.

– We agreed to start sending minor cases to Niška Banja and temporary hospitals in Niš and Kragujevac in order to free up space for more serious cases. That way, we could wait for the night more calmly, Lončar said, adding that several hospitals are opening in Leskovac.

The director of the Belgrade Infectious Diseases Clinic, Goran Stevanović, warned today about the increasing number of hospitalized patients, especially those who have a serious clinical picture.

– In the Infectious Diseases Clinic we receive every morning with too many patients whom we place in temporary beds. As soon as we release someone in their place, we accept a new patient. The situation is the same in other hospitals – said Stevanović.

The number of patients who have tried to treat themselves is also growing.

– Do not try to treat this disease alone at home because it simply cannot be transmitted by itself – Stevanović appealed.
