In Friday’s session, the medical part of the crisis headquarters proposed much more rigorous measures of those adopted by the Government of Serbia a day later

However, everything that epidemiologists thought should be introduced could be realized in a few days if the numbers continue to rise.

And the numbers were definitely worse yesterday than ever: up to 38 people died (so far it was a maximum of 31), and a third of those tested were infected.

Those who attended the session on Friday, assure that the doctors demanded not only stricter measures, but also the immediate application and a rigorous control of everything agreed.

1. Mandatory use of the mask in all outdoor places

2. Closure of all facilities, except pharmacies and pumps (only for refueling), from 5:00 p.m. That means grocery stores wouldn’t work either.

3. Complete transition from high schools to online teaching. Vacation for all students from St. Nicholas to St. John (Dec 19 – Jan 20)

4. Total prohibition of movement at night in access points.

5. Additional reduction in the number of passengers in public transport * all this was requested by the crisis headquarters, but the Government reached a compromise solution

– My impression was that the doctors, who unanimously proposed the measures and delivered them in writing to the Prime Minister, hoped that everything they suggested would be adopted. In the end, however, his proposal was modified a bit. As far as I know, with the promise that you will not hesitate in the new tightening of the measures if the number of people infected by coronavirus continues to increase – explains one of our interlocutors.

Among other things, it was requested to close all the facilities, except pharmacies, dispensers and food delivery, from 5:00 p.m. However, the government decided that it would be at 6 in the afternoon, but also that the grocery stores could continue to operate until 9 at night, as before. Likewise, the start of the application of measures has been extended for today, although the session was held on Friday.

That everything was so is confirmed by the words of Dr. Predrag Kon.
