The chaos that arose on the occasion of the shocking video in which epidemiologists Dr. Branislav Tiodorović and Dr. Predrag Kon are ridiculed, and that was shared by his colleague from Crisis Staff Branimir Nestorović, does not calm down and from moment to moment takes the form of a true contemporary drama.
In other words, everyone already knows what happened, since the matter has become the focus of interest in all the media, and almost hour by hour we hear the statements of two, now opposite sides in the conflict.
But let’s look chronologically at what happened, when and how, so that yesterday’s colleagues became “angry enemies” in public.
Exposition
First, a dark video spread on the Internet, in which two of our most eminent epidemiologists, who are the mainstay of the fight against the corona virus, are ridiculed in the strangest way: Dr. Kon is a mermaid whom the Dr. Tiodrović resorts to work. On top of all that, skeletal heads and vaccines have been installed, with a clear hint that our doctors are working for the pharmaceutical lobby and promoting the vaccine.
The plot
To make matters worse, however, follows a change in an already bizarre situation: Dr. Branimir Nestorović shared the controversial video on his Facebook profile and sparked a flurry of comments. On that occasion, one of the characters in the video, Dr. Tiodorović, was the first to speak, albeit with great restraint.
Our epidemiologist said “he doesn’t think Nestorović did that.”
– Even though I saw that clip, I still can’t believe it’s true. Why would Bane have such an attitude towards me? Until now, I thought we had a collegiate relationship – Dr. Tiodorović said yesterday by “Kurir”, adding:
“I would like to hear from him first. I want to know directly from him what the problem is, if it is true.”
The culmination
Those who, on the other hand, did not abstain are the so-called Dr. Chaos and the epidemiologist Dr. Conn.
Dr. Nestorović seemed to light the fire with his explanation of what really happened, because he addressed journalists almost with a smile about the controversial video posted.
He explained that the disputed video was posted on his Facebook account by his wife, with her approval, of course.
– I didn’t make the video. Someone did it and I really liked it. A horse like that mermaid … I came out of that story, and this was so good for me. Someone sent me a video and when my wife saw it, she said, “Let me put it on your profile.” And I said, “Put it on, feel free.” I think that Bata (Branislav Tiodorović, ed.) Will not be angry, and Kon, knowing him, probably wants a little. Although, in reality, there was no bad intention, it was just a good video for me – said Nestorović.
The third actor in the entire drama, epidemiologist Predrag Kon, was the last to speak, but he also had a very sharp reaction.
– That speaks of him and his wit … We never agreed on our opinions. During my work at Crisis Staff, I did not confront him publicly because we were on the same team. I guess you consider it to be my weakness. The historical judgment on the behavior during the pandemic, as well as the detailed discussion, will come only when everything is over. I am very calm, of pure heart, I am waiting for you with great pleasure, but with all the responsibility – said Dr. Kon, adding that “the part with the heads of the corpse did not see that he could not comment.”
Peripeteia
However, very quickly, the epidemiologist apparently re-watched the video and gave a new comment, now on the corpses.
After that, he briefly commented that it was as he said, “Pig.”
However, among those comments from our epidemiologist, there was one who spoke about the previous agreement, that is, the disagreement of two epidemiologists.
– We never agreed with our opinions. During my work at Crisis Staff, I did not confront him publicly because we were on the same team. I suppose you consider it to be my weakness – stated Kon.
Instead of unfolding
The outcome of this drama is almost invisible, but Dr. Kon’s words briefly remind us of the fact that this is not the first time two doctors have clashed. And very violently.
The first conflict that caught the public’s attention occurred even before the crown existed, a few years ago. Nestorović defended that the MMR vaccine has side effects. This also gave impetus to the dangerous ideas of the anti-vaccination lobby, because the relativization of the importance of the vaccine came from the doctors.
Dr. Predrag Kon, an epidemiologist at the Institute of Public Health, held Nestorovic to account because the consequences of his statements, as he noted, were a total loss of confidence in influenza vaccination and a subsequent loss of confidence in the MMR vaccine .
– That way, it affects people. He insists that the MMR vaccine is not mandatory. He sees smallpox as a harmless disease and publicly influences the public opinion that is formed so that it turns out that vaccines are more dangerous than the disease itself, which is far from the truth – said Dr. Kon about that conflict in that moment for the Telegraf portal.
One of the most tumultuous conflicts was when Nestorović expressed a fairly free opinion on the May Day holiday amid the pandemic. That is, Nestorović was against harsh measures for the holidays, while Kon did not support him.
– There was a harmonization of opinions. There is a separate opinion of Professor Nestorović, so there were mixed opinions in the profession. That is the exchange of opinions and finding that solution is something acceptable. It must be acceptable to me, there is no other solution. The second solution is to resign again, and that does not make sense – said the epidemiologist, adding that it was not of such proportions that he would consider resigning.
In May, Dr. Predrag Kon referred to Dr. Branimir Nestorović’s statement that the solution “is for all of us to get infected with the corona virus” to obtain herd immunity and thus prevent the return of the crown. It was another of his conflicts.
– No epidemiologist, when we have 114 notches in a day, can say that the epidemic is over and no epidemiologist can recommend infection – Dr. Predrag Kon said today when asked to comment on Dr. Branimir Nestrovic’s statement that now “Everyone except the oldest must go out and radiate.”
He adds that a doctor can say that, but an epidemiologist cannot.
– We can’t say “go and get infected”. Doctors can talk like this, but epidemiologists cannot. We must pay attention to the force of the word spoken in public – Kon said.
