In the last 24 hours in Serbia, 14,015 citizens were tested for the corona virus, of which 3,822 tested positive.

Unfortunately, 17 patients died. There are currently 163 patients on ventilators in Serbian hospitals.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 81,086 people have been infected in Serbia and 989 have died. So far, 1,496,295 samples have been analyzed.

Most of the newly infected are again in Belgrade (1692 or 44 percent), followed by Novi Sad (202), Kragujevac (145), Nis (130), Valjevo (107), Kraljevo (75), Sabac (61 ), Bor (57), Backa Palanka (49), Loznica (42) and Vrbas (41).

Other cities and municipalities have fewer than 40 new infected.

Due to the increasingly difficult situation, crisis personnel are expected to take further epidemiological measures tomorrow. At the moment, the two safest measures are closing cafes and clubs at 6pm and wearing masks outdoors.

The eventual decision to shorten the coffee’s working hours will not be permanent and could be limited to two weeks. It will be an attempt to weaken the current wave of kovida-19.

Today, epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon spoke out and posted an alarming message on his Facebook profile.

– What can the state do? Understand that there is no more time … What can an individual do? To avoid infections. What can health professionals do? To support. We have to stop the virus – wrote Kon.

The epidemiologist believes that two weeks of strict measures are the most effective.

– We have to stop the virus and its transmission, it can be done by denying contacts, and that again is only possible with new measures. The Prime Minister said she heard us well and would still think about it. Now we are still thinking about something – Kon said earlier.

The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, Mirsad Đerlek, said today that a new jump in the number of patients with the corona virus is expected in the next seven days.
