Of the 28 arrested last week, suspected of corruption in the municipalities of Prijepolje, Arilje and the city of Novi Pazar, 18 have already pleaded guilty and entered into agreements with the Special Department of the Kraljevo Senior Prosecutor for the suppression of corruption.
The suspects, who did not admit guilt, will mostly defend themselves while the arrest is determined for the former president of the municipality of Prijepolje DZ and a member of the Commission for the allocation of budgetary funds in sports MM of Prijepolje.
DZ is charged with the criminal offenses of abuse of office and influence peddling, and MM only with abuse of office in complicity.
As for the other detainees, the Prosecutor’s Office indicates that after questioning the witnesses and suspects, their detention was lifted, taking into account that there were no longer legal grounds for their detention.
The Prosecutor’s Office did not specify the sentences agreed by the defendants who pleaded guilty, but in any case, the agreements that they signed with the Prosecutor’s Office must be confirmed by the court and a sentence passed.
The director of the preschool institution “Miša Cvijović” IK continues to be investigated by the prosecution due to the prolonged criminal act of abuse of official position, and she will defend herself for freedom.
All members of the Prijepolje Commission for the Allocation of Budgetary Funds in Sports, BN, BD, DC, MN and NB, concluded an agreement on the recognition of the crime of negligent work in service with the Kraljevo Prosecutor’s Office.
A criminal complaint was filed against the Prijepolje National Assembly, also a member of the aforementioned Commission and director of the Tourist Organization (he was not arrested) for the prolonged criminal act of abuse of official position, and his hearing will be scheduled later, according to the prosecution.
Nine out of 10 suspects in Arilje have entered into agreements with the Prosecutor’s Office on the recognition of the criminal act, and among them is the former president of the municipality of MN for the prolonged criminal act of abuse of official position.
Furthermore, for the same crime, the guilt was admitted by the president of the local community Kruščica TK, then the person in charge in the company of Arilje JM, the head of the Municipal Administration GP and his deputy RNV.
The president of FC “Budućnost” from Arilje MS admitted his guilt and agreed with the prosecution for the protracted crime of money laundering.
The vice president of the municipality of Arilje BV entered into an agreement on the recognition of a crime with the Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of falsification of an official document, and the owner of the business store in Arilje, Ž.R. for the widespread crime of money laundering.
An employee of the Department of Budget and Finance of the Municipality of Arilje BM was brought to the case as a suspect for the crime of abuse of official position, and after being questioned, concluded a recognition agreement, the Kraljevo Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
A criminal complaint was filed against the former president of the municipality of Arilje ZT (he was not arrested) for the crimes of abuse of official position and the widespread crime of influence peddling, and his interrogation will be scheduled later.
The prosecution also indicated to the suspects that they will defend themselves for their freedom and did not admit guilt.
These are employees of the Municipal Administration of the City of Novi Pazar DM, which is accused of four criminal acts of influence peddling, deputy mayor of Novi Pazar E.Š., suspect of two criminal acts of influence peddling and director of the PE “Instituto de Urbanismo” Novi Pazar SL who is suspected of two crimes of abuse of power.
Likewise, Pazarci AS, IA and VE are suspected of the crime of abuse in relation to public procurement, and PN de Subotica is also accused of the same crime.
KI from Novi Sad admitted his guilt and entered into a settlement with the prosecution for the crime of abuse in connection with public procurement, as well as with NI from Krusevac.
The director of JKP “Gradska cistoća” Novi Pazar OE concluded an agreement with the prosecution on the recognition of the crime of abuse of official position, and so did the ED of Kragujevac for the crime of abuse of official position in aid.
A criminal complaint was filed against MD from Novi Sad in a regular proceeding due to the criminal act of abuse in connection with public procurement, and his hearing will be scheduled later, the prosecution said.
Of the total number of defendants, 28 were arrested at the end of last week on suspicion that they committed various criminal acts that damaged Serbia’s budget by several million dinars.
