Today a new kovid hospital was officially opened in Batajnica, and the first patients will be admitted after 5pm. The hospital’s inauguration was attended by the Minister of Health, Zlatibor Lončar, and the Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić.

Brnabic: this hospital is really a spaceship

The Prime Minister said that in four months something was done that “we could not do in 40 years”.

– Compared to most of our hospitals, this is really a spaceship. We achieve it at the most difficult moment possible when we have more than 7,000 patients when the pressure on our medical system is already the ninth month – he says.

– Our medical system will come out of this much stronger. It will come out with two new hospitals, new equipment, new knowledge, and new people. We have been continuously accepting new people, those who are in specialization. Thanks to all of you. We will come out with new labs and equipment and slightly higher salaries for them, Brnabić announced.

Potter: downloading for the rest of the system

– I am very proud that Serbia has today got a new kovid hospital when other countries have to send their patients to other countries.

As you said, we now have 270 patients on a ventilator, and this hospital alone has a capacity of 250 beds.

– Imagine the relief for the rest of the system. Immeasurable thanks to health workers, our heroes, heroes. We receive the largest number of patients in Europe for hospital treatment, that’s why the results are like this. We have the same protocols throughout the country. Today, what we are specifically interested in is that after cleaning and radiation, this hospital will receive the first patients in the afternoon, Lončar said.

– I have the honor of being in charge of the most modern hospital in the region, which should start operating today. I am grateful to all who supported me for choosing to be the director of this hospital. When I enrolled in medicine 25 years ago, I had no idea that I was going to face something like this epidemic. We have to help our country because we have no other. We will do everything we can to help all of our patients and overcome this epidemic, said Dr. Tatjana Adžić Vukičević, director of the hospital, at the opening of the hospital.

Previously, as a guest at RTS, Dr. Adzic Vukicevic announced that experienced specialists from the Serbian Clinical Center, top nurses, technicians, physiotherapists, laboratory assistants, as well as young colleagues who were admitted to the competition will work at the new hospital and the institution will have it all. Necessary household appliances and the most modern means.

– I have a spaceship behind me. I am impressed by this building and all the capabilities that the hospital offers – said the director of that hospital, Tatjana Adžić Vukičević.

He said there will be nine large wards in the hospital with 30-40 cells each.

Dr. Adžić Vukičević also works at the Pneumology Clinic, where, as she says, she treats the most serious lung patients.

– I have never had such clinical pictures and conditions in my career, but we will fight … I think we will fight together. There is no turning back, just moving forward, all together – said the director of the Batajnica hospital.

Vučić: I am proud of the Batajica hospital

– Regarding the Batajnica hospital, I am proud of the idea, of the money we contributed, but also of the workers who worked all winter. This will be the largest kovid hospital in Serbia for us. Our KC in Nis has 750 beds. There will be 930 beds here – said Vucic last night on RTS.

By the way, the construction of the Kovid hospital in Batajnica started on August 1 this year and, as noted at the time by the President of Serbia, between 27 and 28 million euros were invested in the construction alone, while the total construction of the hospital, with equipment, cost about 70 million euros.
