HE Government of Mines already thinking about the resumption of face-to-face classrooms in state schools on mining soil. According to the governor Romeu zema (Novo), in some cities, the conditions to return to activities in the institutions are already empty, since March of this year due to new coronavirus pandemic. Since then, the classes have been held remotely, via TV, radio, internet or with availability and search of the printed material itself.
Zema also said that the decisions about the curricula will be based on a protocol created jointly by the State Health and Education Secretariats, which will be released later this week. “Our secretariat, this week, will continue giving a press conference detailing all this plan that is being built at this time,” he said.
The governor once again stressed that any decision on the resumption of face-to-face classes depends on the mayors. “The STF itself decided that the municipality’s competence is to leave or not an establishment to function. The State will guide it, offer a protocol that will provide security, but it is still up to each mayor ”.
“This issue has really caused a lot of controversy. Even within education and within health, there are very divergent opinions, but at this moment our Ministry of Health and Education is working together to build protocols so that we have a safe return from classes. The date is not yet reported. We are creating criteria, but it is worth bearing in mind that we have different situations in the state. There is the green wave in some regions, yellow, red, all this will be taken into account. We want it to be as safe as possible ”, Zema completed.
The new coronavirus has already killed 6,764 people in Minas Gerais, according to data published this Tuesday by the Secretary of State for Health. In total, 273,233 people were infected and 239,717 were able to recover from the disease. The State still monitors 26,752 cases.
Collective construction
Zema also stated that planning to resume face-to-face classes in some cities is being carried out by more than one agency. The governor already anticipated that the return to school will be different from the conventional one, with some established protocols and seeking the necessary distance for the moment.
“All this, I want to make it clear, is being built in four hands. With the Public Ministry, with the Court of Justice … we are not making random decisions, nor what I think is correct, what would be correct. Everyone has participated, and as I said. We want this decision to be well-founded and technical, regardless of ideologies, we know that there is always a group of opponents, we want to be exempt and do it safely. it sure won’t be like before. There will be a lot of difference, in terms of distance, in terms of protection measures, ”he said.
