In 10 days, the Ministry of Health will deliver more than 1.4 million doses to the territory of Minas Gerais

Governor Romeu Zema (Novo) announced that Minas Gerais will begin, in the coming days, vaccination against Covid-19 in the elderly between 65 and 69 years old. Immunization will be possible with the shipment of 475,600 doses that will arrive in the state this Friday (25).

With the new batch that the Ministry of Health will send, Minas Gerais will reach 1,441,200 doses of immunizers within 10 days. “We are ready to take another step in the largest vaccination operation in the history of Minas Gerais,” the head of the state executive wrote on a social network.

“The 475,600 new doses will start the vaccination of people between 65 and 69 years old,” the governor guaranteed. In addition to this age group, the referral will also be used to immunize healthcare professionals, Quilombola communities, and the elderly aged 70-74 years.

With the arrival of more vaccines, the State will have 3,645,330 doses for application in risk groups. To date, the Ministry of Health has determined that vaccines should be aimed at people aged 70 to 74 and older health workers. The quilombolas and the riverine population are also included among the priorities.

In Minas, 1,138,136 people have already received their first dose against Covid-19. As for the second dose, 443,528 have already been vaccinated, according to data from the Vaccinometer Panel.
