The videos that circulated on social networks and that were published by one of the four young people who died in an accident at dawn on January 1 in Rodovia dos Bandeirantes (SP-348), show moments before the accident. The victims were heading to the beach where they would celebrate the New Year.
In the images you can see the friends animated and singing the song ‘Prepare the boards’ by MC Lipi. Posted in the Instagram story of Rhyan Phelipe, 19, it can be seen that the vehicle would be at high speed when reaching 140km / h. The maximum speed in Rodovia dos Bandeirantes is 120 km / h.
In one part of the video one of the young people says ‘Happy New Year’, and in another you can see Letícia Roque, 21, the only survivor of the accident sitting in the back seat, holding a glass and gesturing at the camera as toasting the arrival of the new year.
Accident
An accident in the early morning of this first day claimed the lives of four young people who were heading to the beach.
The incident occurred in Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, already arriving in São Paulo. Five youths (four men and one woman) were in an I30 vehicle that crashed into a road wall. The impact was so strong that the car broke in half.
Of the five passengers, only the young Letícia Roque (20), a resident of Jardim Novo Wenzel, survived and is admitted to a hospital. According to a cousin, he underwent surgery and is in the company of his parents who, as soon as they found out about the accident, traveled to monitor their daughter’s health. The case still draws attention and prayer requests and messages of support on social media are posted with the victim’s photo.
The other occupants of the car, who did not resist the accident, were identified as Rhyan Phelipe (19), João Pedro Gonçalves Silva (19), Luan Costa (21) and Antony Damião.
The JC report spoke to the father of one of the victims: “As far as we know, it was raining heavily at the time of the accident. What I think is that the car has slipped on the track and the driver ended up losing control and crashing into the railing. I am in São Paulo with the other parents, taking care of the liberation of the bodies that will be taken to be buried in Rio Claro.
