Without opening a new contest, INSS lost 40% of the workforce since 2017

The need to open the new contest of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS contest) is big. The municipality recorded another drop in its workforce, according to the Brazilian Open Data Portal. According to data from August 2020, the number of vacant positions already reaches 22,058 positions.

So far, no steps have been taken to effectively reduce job vacancies. Without opening a new contest, the municipality has already lost 40% of its personnel, which aggravates the situation. The information was given by the director of the National Federation of the Social Security Workers’ Union, Thaize Chagas Antunes, in an interview with the Fantástico program.

According to information from the National Confederation of Social Security Workers (CNTSS / CUT), an audit of the General Comptroller of the Federation revealed that the number of vacant positions in the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) it’s over 22 thousand servers. The data was passed on to the Folha Dirigida website.

The CNTSS, which represents health, social security and social assistance professionals at the national level, criticizes the hiring of military personnel and retirees in the INSS, demanding that a personnel contest be held in the municipality.

In May, the INSS declared that it would change the size of its staff to allow the opening of a new call for tenders. However, until then, more than 5,000 professionals hired temporarily need to normalize the profit queue, which already exceeds 2 million orders stopped.

The Federal Government defends, in order not to authorize the INSS tender at this time, a restructuring of the provision of services, which includes digitization, thus resulting in new needs and fewer servers.

In the opinion of the CNTSS representative, this speech differs from reality. According to him, the INSS receives, on average, about 300 thousand requests for benefits each month. This requires professionals with technical knowledge and experienced staff to meet all this demand.

“Profits will continue to grow and there will be no workers to serve. What they are trying to do, temporary hiring, has been seen before and it didn’t work. Now it will be no different. “

“Because it is not a simple thing (to analyze and grant benefits), it is something that requires a very specific knowledge of Social Security Legislation. It is not easy to analyze a process and say if a person is entitled to a certain type of benefit or not ”.
