The Military Police increased the number of police officers in the seven municipalities of the Paraná coast by 30% to guarantee security and guide the approximately 1.1 million people who spent the end of the year on the beaches. Comparison with the same day in 2019 shows that cases of domestic violence fell more than half (from 11 to 5) and robberies decreased by 88% (from 42 to only 5). The silent disturbance also decreased: from 14 cases it fell to 9 in the period analyzed, that is to say. Surveillance

The planning included different types of surveillance and even the partial and total blockade of streets, to facilitate the flow of traffic on the boardwalk. The inspection of parking in prohibited places was intensified, as well as surveillance on foot and with motorcycles throughout the last day of the year.
In Guaratuba, the high-resolution cameras of the Alto Post of Observation (POE) helped coordinate surveillance and monitor the public at long distances, in order to capture illegal situations and indicate to the police on the street the exact points that need the surveillance. PM presence. In Matinhos, a bus with similar technology was used, which monitored specific points with the highest concentration of people. In Pontal do Paraná, the surveillance was carried out in the points with the highest concentration of people, in the tourist centers of Praia de Leste, Ipanema, Shangrilá, Santa Terezinha and Pontal do Sul.
The operation included teams from the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE), in support of the 9th Military Police Battalion (9th BPM), state military personnel from the Environmental Police Battalion-Green Force (BPAmb-FV), from the Police Regiment Montada (RPMon)) and the Traffic Police Battalion (BPTran), which worked in the urban transit area of the municipalities.
The work carried out during the last day of the year and the first hours of January also included the reinforcement of vehicles and police teams that are part of the State Emergency Employment Force (FEPE), with the aim of strengthening the capacity to face crimes more serious. violent, with greater agility to respond to incidents and provide support to military police officers already working on the coast.
Roads
Teams from the Highway Police Battalion (BPRv) operated on all state highways during the New Year period. The police carried out breathalyzer tests (breathalyzer), blockades in predefined locations, routine activities of verification of documentation and writing of traffic violations, in addition to using mobile radars for speed control and other preventive actions.
On the 31st there were 15 traffic accidents, with 16 injured, on the roads that cut the coast. There were no deaths.
