The role of the deputy head of government is strategic. It is so important that it requires someone the president trusts. That was the position of Senator Chico Rodrigues (DEM-RR), caught by the PF trying to hide money in his underwear.
In a video that is not known exactly when it was recorded, the senator confirms his closeness to the president: “I want to thank my friend Jair Bolsonaro here for 20 years in the Chamber of Deputies.” And the president responds: “It’s an almost stable union, Chico! (Laughter)”.
Last Wednesday, the Federal Police carried out seven search and seizure warrants in Boa Vista, Roraima. One of the addresses was the house of Senator Chico Rodrigues. He is suspected of participating in a criminal organization that would have embezzled about R $ 20 million for the health of Roraima. According to the researchers, the group was made up of politicians, businessmen and officials. They allegedly defrauded the emergency contracts signed by the Health Department during the pandemic. The money, released through parliamentary amendments, was sent to companies designated by the parliamentarians themselves.
