A resident of Vicentina, a city 255 kilometers from Campo Grande, is the twelfth victim of the covid-19 in Mato Grosso do Sul. He was interned in São Paulo. The state also exceeded 400 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 405 in total.
The death notification occurred on April 29 and was recorded out of state. The 62-year-old patient was in the ICU and died on May 1, but only yesterday the Health Department says he received the confirmation.
“We needed the tests that were carried out in the municipality of São Paulo, which lags behind in the samples processed,” justified the undersecretary of the State Health Department, Christinne Maymone.
The pace of the disease continues to accelerate in Mato Grosso do Sul, mainly in the interior. The number of ICUs occupied also increased to 9, 4 public and 3 on the private network. Another 170 people are isolated and 207 have been released from quarantine.
There are 20 new cases in total in 24 hours. Guia Lopes reached 39 positive tests, with 5 more confirmed cases. Jardim is also concerned about 4 other cases today. In this Tuesday’s bulletin, there are also 4 cases of Campo Grande, with 159 in total. Another 3 are from Três Lagoas, 2 in Coxim and 1 in Corumbá, in addition to death in Vicentina.
Currently, there are 31 municipalities with cases of the disease. “Guia Lopes da Laguna is today one of the municipalities with the highest number of cases, not only in Mato Grosso do Sul, but in the country,” comments the Secretary of Health, Geraldo Resende. The incidence is 394.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Mato Grosso do Sul entered the twentieth epidemiological week and the risk of maximum disease is imminent, recalls SES. “Experts indicate that after week 20 everyone registers a greater growth of the disease,” said Secretary Geraldo Resende, reinforcing the need for social isolation.
