The decision will depend on which immunizer the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approves and which one reaches the capital
Depending on which immunizer the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approves, and which one arrives in Belo Horizonte, the government of the capital city may resume collaboration with pharmacies so that vaccination occurs within the establishments. The information was released by the mayor, Alexandre Kalil (PSD), in a press conference this Friday (18).
“We have a solid plan and the tickets are in the closet. We reserve the money and we have a plan so that, if there is no vaccine, we will have the São Paulo vaccine. We have a syringe for everyone and we are ready to vaccinate. And we did more. We do not only vaccinate in our centers, but also in pharmacy chains. It can be a “plus” in the vaccination plan. We can expand, as we did (before), ”he said.

The City Secretary of Health, Jackson Machado, detailed part of the idea in the interview, later. According to him, the association with the Belo Horizonte pharmaceutical chain will depend on which immunizer is approved by Anvisa. The holder of the portfolio mentions, for example, the case of the American Pfzier vaccine, which needs to be refrigerated at -70ºC.
“In relation to pharmacies, we have to see which vaccine will be used. If a vaccine comes that requires -70ºC, I doubt that many (pharmacies) have capacity (to store). It will depend on which vaccine will be incorporated. At first, we trust that the National Immunization Plan (PNI) will cover the population. Is the purchase of vaccines feasible? THEIR. But it’s plan B, ”he said.
The secretary highlighted the mayor’s claims that Belo Horizonte is ready to begin vaccination “immediately” if the immunizer is approved. “We have all the supplies, vaccination points and trained personnel. If the vaccine is launched tomorrow, the day after tomorrow we can start. We will follow the PNI (at the beginning), but do we have our plan? We have it ”, he concluded.
