On Thursday, September 24, the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, reconfirmed the new public tender for the Federal Highway Police (PRF contest). Now, he cited the number of vacancies and has already estimated when the notice will be published: early 2021.
According to the president, the general director of the corporation, Eduardo Aggio, took the need to open the contest and that, therefore, the talks with the Ministry of Economy to publicize an authorization would be well advanced.
“Aggio brought us the need for more PRF’s and the conversation with the Economy is already well advanced, so 2,000 new vacancies can be opened at the end of this year or early next year.”

The order for the new contest was published on August 11. According to the document, Ordinance No. 256/2020, 04 members were appointed to the commission for monitoring the procedures related to the event, such as the preparation of the basic project for hiring the organizing table, the last step before the publication of the announcement .

The PRF 2021 contest
The salaries offered by the PRF reach R $ 10,357.88 for higher education and R $ 4,022.77 for secondary education.
To enter the race Federal Highway Patrol, it is necessary upper level (in any area) and national driver’s license (CNH) in category “B”. Candidates must be evaluated by objective test of specific knowledge, speech test, physical ability test, health evaluation, psychological evaluation, social investigation, title evaluation and professional training course.
The tasks of the Federal Highway Police will depend on the class, divided into four: Special Class; First class; Second class; and Third Class. The starting salary for the federal road police career is R $ 10,357.88 in 2019. The amounts already include food aid, which is currently set at R $ 458.

Police deficit
The need for new public tenders in Public Security, especially in the PRF, is evident due to the shortage of personnel. The corporation’s deficit reached the mark of more than 8,000 police officers in 2018.
The information released by the Federal Highway Police, at that time, showed that the number of employees in November 2018 was 10,029 employees, when the ideal would be 18,424 in the corporation. The total shortage was 8,395 professionals, with vacancies derived from retirements, deaths, layoffs, transfers, among other reasons.
In 2019, the federal government demonstrated its intention to hold PRF contests annually, with 1,000 seats. The intention is to restore the situation and reach 13,098 policemen by 2022. However, this promise has not been fulfilled so far.
According to the president of FenaPRF, Deolindo Carniel, the promise came from the president of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro. The category representative said that the PRF has almost 10,000 vacancies filled. The measure would help fight the corporation’s personnel shortage.
The last contest had more than 129 thousand subscribers
The last public PRF contest was launched in November 2018. On the occasion, Cebraspe (formerly Cespe / UnB) organized the event. The offer was 500 immediate vacancies, all for the Federal Highway Police.
The event had, in total, more than 129 thousand registered. The highest demand was Pará, with 12,700 applicants for 81 places, followed by Goiás with 12,605 applicants and Rio Grande do Sul, 11,559.
The objective and trial tests were applied on February 3 in the different Federal Units that offer vacancies.
The participants answered 120 questions, distributed in three blocks.
