On the first day of circulation, only vehicles with odd-numbered end plates can circulate throughout the city. Unlike the usual rotation, the new extended rotation is valid for the entire perimeter of the municipality, not only in the areas of the so-called expanded center, according to the city council.
The measure aims to increase the isolation rate in the city and is valid 24 hours a day, including Saturdays and Sundays, according to the decree of Mayor Bruno Covas, published in the Official Gazette last Friday (8).
The decree establishes a fine of R $ 130 for anyone who does not respect the rule and the loss of four points in the CNH. The text also defines the services that can circulate in the city, exempting professionals from essential services, such as health, safety and some public assistance services.
Only workers in services considered essential for the city of São Paulo will be exempt from complying with the new rotation. This Saturday (9), the city provided a portal where workers and companies of these essential services can register to be exempt from complying with extended vehicle rotation.
According to the city council, registration should preferably be carried out by companies. Employers who apply within 10 calendar days will have retroactive effect. That is, whoever is fined for not complying with the rotation and the company has already sent the exemption request within those 10 days, the violations of the previous days will be automatically canceled.
Regarding the registrations sent from the 11th day after the implementation of the extended rotation, the cancellation of the fines will only be valid from the filing date, according to information from the registration portal SP 156. (access here)
