São Paulo Health Secretary Jean Gorinchteyn announced on Friday (5) a “war operation” in the health system to receive Covid-19 patients in the state. Governor João Doria (PSDB) also announced the creation of a new field hospital, which should be detailed next Monday (8).
In an interview with journalists at the Palácio dos Bandeirantes, the secretary summoned health professionals to volunteer at the front and admitted that patients are seen in the corridors of the hospital, as long as they are not left unattended.
“We will continue to open beds in hospitals. We will open anywhere in these hospitals: whether in the amphitheaters, in outpatient clinics or in the hallways. Ah, patient in the hall? There will be a patient in the hallway, what we do not want is an unattended patient”, Gorinchteyn Dise.
During the press conference, the secretary also presented the health indicators of the state, which had a record number of deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours this week, in addition to the highest ICU occupancy rate since the start of the pandemic and also the highest. total number of hospitalized patients with confirmed or suspected disease.
The secretary asked for help from the regional councils of health professionals so that the volunteers can help in the front line service.
“Now we need the support of the regional class councils: the Regional Council of Medicine, the Regional Council of Physiotherapy, the Regional Council of Nursing, to help us with the volunteers. We need help. Because we are at war“, He claimed.
New field hospital
The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, announced during the press conference the creation of a new field hospital to treat patients with Covid-19. However, Doria did not elaborate on what the new structure will be like.
“Next Monday we are going to announce a new field hospital. This morning I requested the release of a resource for the implantation, as soon as possible, of a field hospital here in the capital. It will not depend on the city, but I know that it is worried. The state government will announce a field hospital next Monday, “said Doria.
During the press conference, the governor also commented on the statement from the Secretary of Health about the patients in the corridors.
