According to the union, the orientation is that no group leaves the garage without a collector

The return of the rotation of municipal vehicles in São Paulo, which will be stricter starting this Monday, May 11, 2020 to try to discourage displacement during the Covid-19 pandemic, may have another drawback for the São Paulo state.

The Sindmotoristas promise to carry out actions in the garages and block the exit of the buses if they only have the driver.

“Without a collector, no bus will leave the garage”, said the president of Sindmotoristas, Valdevan Noventa.

Starting from scratch on Monday the 11th, the mobilizations begin in the garages.

According to the union, the 1,000 booster buses to meet the demand of people unable to go to work by car due to the new rotation and the 600 to be parked in strategic pockets were selected without a collector, which the category does not accept .

As the Transport journal, Starting Monday, 11, cars with odd end plates can only drive on odd days, and on even days, cars with even end plates can run. The rotation is for 24 hours and in all the streets of the city, not only in the expanded center.

See the full union note:

Sindmotoristas draws the attention of all the directors, activists and workers to an action in all the bus workshops next Monday (11).

It is a resistance movement of the category to the resolution of the mayor Bruno Covas to expand the fleet in circulation, putting another thousand buses on the streets, without the presence of the collectors.

The union that, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, has been at the forefront of the battle for the life and employment of drivers, considers this to be an affront to the Public Power.

Then the decision has already been made. The federal deputy and president of Sindmotoristas, Valdevan Noventa, made the position of the category reach the bosses and the City Council. “Without a collector, no bus will leave the garage.”
The Secretary of Culture of the organization, Valmir Santana da Paz (Sorriso), has already summoned the entire board and union delegates so that, from the zero hour of next 11, together with the workers, they defend the work of the collectors.

Trucks, on the other hand, continue to be regulated by specific rules, not related to the “new launcher”.

MP WILL CHARGE EXPLANATIONS:

Prosecutors Roberto Luís de Oliveira Pimentel and Camila Mansour Magalhães da Silveira, from the São Paulo State Prosecutor’s Office, demanded that the São Paulo City Council explain in 48 hours the criteria and expected impacts for the new municipal vehicle rotation that will come into effect Starting Monday, May 11, 2020.

Civil Investigation No. 14.279.74 / 2020 wants answers to the following questions:

  1. from when will the rotation take effect and for how long is the restriction planned to be adopted;
  2. in what respects will the same regulation continue as before the covid-19 pandemic and in which aspects were there changes. In case of changes, and regarding them, the rules must be specified to restrict the circulation of private vehicles in this Capital, with details of the hours, days and final plates;
  3. They must also be informed how and through communication, the population will receive the necessary clarifications on all aspects of the measure, including to avoid new crowds and disorders in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic that the country is currently facing. ;
  4. the studies and planning that supported the resumption of the rotation, as well as, in detail, the objectives to be achieved;
  5. plan the rotation so that there is no damage to the movement of vehicles and professionals related to essential services, especially health and safety (that is, if health and safety professionals and providers of other essential services will be identified, as well as in which aspects said vehicles and professionals will be exempt from rotation and how they will be released from the measure, if applicable, to avoid inconveniences and difficulties for their circulation);
  6. in view of the news of an increase in the bus fleet due to the resumption of restrictions on the movement of private vehicles, on which the establishment of the number of vehicles (buses) available to reinforce the public transport fleet was based, that is, on the basis of which studies or planning the number of buses in circulation after the resumption of the rotation system was established, to avoid overcrowding and, consequently, to prevent the spread of the New Coronavirus on public transport.

WITHOUT DIALOGUE:

The announcement of a tighter rotation by the city created discomfort in part for the São Paulo state government.

The return of the municipal auto rotation in São Paulo, even more rigorous scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2020, was not communicated by the city to the state’s transportation managers.

That is what Metropolitan Transportation Secretary Alexandre Baldy said in an interview with TV Bandeirantes.

The concern is that many people who work in the capital of São Paulo and who currently use cars live in cities in Greater São Paulo, such as ABC, Mogi das Cruzes, Osasco and Guarulhos, for example.

According to Baldy, the estimate is that the demand for metropolitan buses managed by EMTU, CPTM trains and Metro trains, will increase from 25% to 30%, at least during peak hours.

The secretary said that he is already talking with those responsible for EMTU, CPTM and Metrô to take measures with the aim of increasing the fleet of buses and trains.

The concern is mainly with rush hours.
