Despite the release of the return to face-to-face classes in Santa Catarina, the municipality of Blumenau still has no date for the resumption to take place. The ordinance issued by the state government is still being studied by the city.
One of the State’s requirements is the creation of a Municipal Committee and a Contingency Plan. The documents must be prepared by the Municipal Department of Education and educational institutions, containing the sanitary measures to guarantee safety when returning from classes.
“The State Government took weeks to prepare and disseminate the ordinance. For this reason, the Municipality will need at least a few days to define the best strategy to resume classes, in order to guarantee the health safety of students and teachers, ”explains the Secretary of Education, Patrícia Lueders.
At the same time, Semed is awaiting the diagnosis of the survey carried out with families from 6th to 9th grade and will begin in the coming days a survey with families from other years and classes to understand the needs of each school community. The response time is until this Sunday.
Even with the state ordinance, the Blumenau City Council ensures that families who choose not to send students to school will not be harmed. Activities outside the classroom will continue to take place on the Google Classroom platform. The evaluation of the students, as well as the annual validation, will be carried out based on the work carried out on the platform.
“Who is going to decide whether or not to return is his father, mother or guardian. The non-contact classes will continue in Blumenau. The platform will be powered until December 18. But, from the entrance, we will offer classes to whoever wants it ”, he explains.
Asked about the overload of teachers, the secretary explained that her job will be to continue feeding the digital platform. Especially in cases of teachers in the risk group. New teachers can be hired depending on how many decide to extend their hours to integrate face-to-face classes.
Private educational institutions
The municipality will give autonomy to private institutions to define the best way to return to classes according to the needs of each institution and its school community. Even so, private schools must prepare the contingency plan for each unit, which will be evaluated by the Municipal Committee.
