Morando also spoke about the planning of the second term and the measures that he will take, as a matter of urgency, at the end of this week, to face the crisis of the new coronavirus that has had an incredible increase in the city in recent days. The number of hospitalizations practically doubled in the municipality, according to the mayor.
“The population has neglected the pandemic. We are very scared by growth, which was completely out of the curve. No one wins a pandemic alone. We have to have the support of society. The citizen needs to know that the virus is not gone, it is among us. This neglect of the population and commercial establishments, imposes the obligation on us to take emergency measures as of this weekend, ”he says.
The mayor also explained that for him the return to school will not occur this year.
“There is no condition to start classes this year,” he guarantees. “Flexibility measures with schools are impossible,” he adds.
For him, there is no doubt that the country is going through a new stage of the health crisis and that it is much more aggressive. “We are already in the middle of the second wave,” he evaluates.
“Society awaits a response from government officials. All that cannot happen, at a time like this, is politicization and political strife. People want the vaccine, “he concluded.
