The secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Environment, Ricardo Wagner, said that the restaurants and beach huts can operate until 11 at night, keeping 50% of the tables and chairs. Asked about the concentration of people, he said that the Jijoca de Jericoacoara City Council is “working to solve the problems.”

The municipal decree published on August 1 established the gradual resumption of activities in the town of Jericoacoara. The document authorizes reservations for hotels, inns and lodging facilities, as long as health protocols are followed. The restaurants and beach huts can operate until 11 at night, however with a capacity reduced to 50% of the total public.

Holidays with 100% occupancy in the hotel chain

Jericoacoara beach registers 100% of the hotel chain for the Independence party. The town has 7,500 beds between hotels and inns and they are all full. To avoid crowds, restaurants set up tables with social distance. In inns and hotels, alcohol gel is observed in most of them, according to the report of G1.

The commercial manager of the La Villa group, Júlio César Borges, does not hide his enthusiasm for seeing great activity in the town of Jericoacoara, but regrets that a large part of the tourists do not respect the safety regulations.

“The demand is immense, and we were even surprised by this very high demand for weekends and holidays, and today we are really working there with 100% total and for the next holidays the demand is also very high. The holidays returned in full force ”, he says satisfied.

Regarding the non-use of masks by the majority of tourists, Júlio César, affirms that the businessmen of the establishments guide tourists, but it is difficult to convince them to use the protective mask.

“They have a certain difficulty to really comply with the rules, which is the distance and the use of masks. The inns and establishments are guiding and we are following all the protocols, but we still have some resistance from tourists to comply with these rules, ”he laments.
