The city of Mogi das Cruzes announced that the city will enter the critical phase, with more restrictions than the current emergency, as of Monday (22). The measure will be valid for 10 days.
Among the main points is the restriction of the movement of people 24 hours a day, in order to avoid crowds in squares, parking lots and streets. The movement of people will be allowed when necessary to go to the pharmacy, hospital and market.
The measures were announced by Mayor Caio Cunha during a press conference this Friday afternoon (19).

The mayor did not rule out decreeing a lockdown, but said he has not yet decreed it because other municipalities in the region will not enter. According to Caio Cunha, without joint action the measure will not be effective.
Caio Cunha said that the decision will depend on the response of these ten days of the critical phase. According to the mayor, if the exit worsens it will be a closure. If it improves, there is the possibility of flexibility.
This Friday (19), the municipal secretary of Health, Henrique Naufel, spoke about the collapse facing the city’s health system, which has had 100% occupancy in ICU beds for more than a week. In nursing beds, the occupancy exceeded 95% this Friday.

- Supermarkets may be open for 24 hours, but access will be restricted. You cannot enter more than one member of the family, with a capacity of one person for every 20 m².
- Increase the reinforcement of security and inspection to give Mogi more effectiveness to be able to with the Civil and Military Police in the streets, with the possibility of hiring a company to help with the inspection.

Mayor Caio Cunha also reported that he is looking for supplies to use the Municipal Maternity building, as a possibility to assist patients with the new coronavirus. But for that an internal work is necessary, such as flooring, air conditioning, which should take about two months.
Another alternative is the Municipal Gymnasium that is prepared for it. But, according to the City Council, the problem is not only the bed and the equipment. Currently there are also difficulties with human resources, because there is a shortage of professionals.
For now, holiday anticipation is ruled out, but may be implemented in the future.
