The complaint by the Rio de Janeiro Public Ministry against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicans-RJ) indicates that he and his wife, the dentist Fernanda Bolsonaro, received R $ 295,500 in cash. The amount was received through 146 deposits “without known origin” between April 2014 and August 2018. The information is from the newspaper O Globo.
According to the MP, the amount was used to pay the fees of a R $ 2.55 million apartment in Barra da Tijuca, acquired in May 2014. The deposits were identified in violation of the bank secrecy of the senator and his wife.
Also according to the complaint, the deposits “do not find ballast in the amounts withdrawn from the couple’s accounts” and, therefore, “do not come from their legitimate sources of income, but from the amounts diverted from Alerj by the ‘ghost advisers’ , through financial operators ”.
The deputy also describes that the apartment was canceled through checks, transfers and bank financing.
Requested by O Globo, the defense of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro said in a note that “due to the secrecy of Justice, the defense cannot comment on details, but guarantees that the complaint against Flávio Bolsonaro is untenable.”
“Between procedural vices and narrative and mathematical errors, the accusatory thesis forged against the senator is unworkable and is nothing more than a macabre and poorly designed chronicle, influenced by groups that have clear political interests and are now trying to return to power. The complaint, with so many errors and vices, should not even be received by the Special Agency. All the defects in the form and antecedents of the complaint will be scored and reflected in the corresponding document and in a timely manner, “says the note.
